Stay in Step is a local non-profit that is open to Veterans and civilians that has produced measurable and proven results with patients at all levels on their road to recovery. My mission is to assist Stay in Step to raise funds to continue providing support to spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury patients right here in Tampa Bay.
Romy and Gaby Camargo created this foundation out of need – Chief Warrant Officer Romy Camargo spent most of his military career in the 75th Rangers Regiment and 7th Special Forces group. During his third deployment to Afghanistan Romy’s detachment was ambushed while carrying out a humanitarian mission and Romy was shot in the back of his neck, resulting in paralysis from the shoulders down. Romy and his wife Gaby viewed his diagnosis not as a challenge but an opportunity and they set out to open a rehab facility in Tampa Bay to provide therapy and recovery services to military and civilians in our community.
On June 2015 Stay in Step opened its doors. Romy is our real hometown hero – I challenge you to find him in a bad mood, he is always smiling and doing for others, it is our turn to help him continue to reach his dreams. This is not a selfish ask everything that the Romy and Gaby Foundation do is in effort to help others and improve their lives.
Please show your support and help us change lives one step at a time!
